Create your account

If you're new to Thatch, complete the steps below to create your account. Where a step needs more explanation, you'll find a link to detailed documentation.

1. Choose an employee health budget

From the Welcome page, Thatch will guide you through entering your employee details (or uploading a census) and sharing your benefits goals so you can fine-tune your employee health budget.

How you define the health budget determines your employee’s benefits experience on Thatch. Review Choose an employee health budget to learn about benefit strategies.

When you’re pleased with the employee health budget, continue to create your Thatch account.

2. Add your company details

Add your email, set a password, and agree to the terms and conditions. From this point onward, you can log in to your Thatch account and pick up where you left off.

When you create a Thatch account, you’ll be asked to provide information about your company:

  • Legal business name
  • Physical address where your business is located
  • Business structure (such as an LLC or corporation)
  • Industry
  • Employer Identification Number (EIN)

After you’ve submitted the information listed above, Thatch will reach out via email if additional documents are necessary to finish up the verification process.

3. Configure payroll and pay schedules

Thatch uses your pay schedule to calculate deductions for employees whose health plan costs more than their budget. To ensure Thatch correctly matches your pay schedule, visit Configure payroll.

4. Connect your bank account

Link your company's bank account to pay your employee healthcare costs and the Thatch platform fees.

Thatch partners with Plaid to securely verify your bank account. As part of the process, you'll see the option to connect the account automatically by logging into your bank, or manually by adding your details and receiving a $0.01 deposit. Thatch provides clear instructions in both cases.

info

Thatch invoices you for next month’s healthcare costs on the 13th of each month, and for your platform fees on the first of each month that employees have active coverage. See Review invoices to learn more about invoicing and billing schedules. Then read Process payroll deductions to understand how you’ll reconcile costs.

Once in your dashboard, complete the task to Authorize ACH codes with your bank to ensure that Thatch debits are approved by your bank.

tip

When you finish adding your bank account information, you’ll land on your dashboard homepage. This is where you’ll find essential tasks, important dates, and reports. Review carefully to make sure you complete all key steps before inviting employees to their benefits.

5. Provide additional business information
